The Exact Ventures Session Border Controller (SBC) forecast is largely unchanged with a total compounded average growth rate (CAGR) of 14% through 2022. This growth rate is nearly evenly split between the enterprise (E-SBC) market and the service provider (SP-SBC) markets. The SP-SBC market is expected to be fueled by the continued migration to VoLTE (the wireless/VoLTE segment of the market is expected to grow by 27% CAGR). VoLTE continues to be less than 10% of total voice subscriptions and less than one quarter of total LTE subscriptions. While the transition to VoLTE has occurred slower than expected, it’s clear that much of the growth in the market is in the future. SIP Trunking and Hosted UC services will continue to drive the E-SBC market.
