In 4Q16, the total market grew 20% year-over-year to $763 million.  The wireline segment grew 36% over the same timeframe to $171 million and accounted for 22% of the total IMS market.  The wireless/VoLTE segment grew 16% versus 4Q15 to $592 million and accounted for the remaining 78% of the market.

We expect that the wireless/VoLTE segment will continue to drive the market in 2017 and beyond.  Specifically, we forecast that the wireless/VoLTE segment will grow 20% in 2017 to $2.4 billion.  The wireline segment is expected to grow as well, surging 14% in 2017.  Service providers are actively planning for an all-IP based core network and gradually “sunsetting” the PSTN.
