BELMONT, CA — August 28, 2026 — Exact Ventures recently published its Wireless Packet Core Market Share and Total Market Analysis for 2Q 2026.
The wireless packet core market posted a very strong second quarter in 2Q26, with revenue rising sharply both sequentially and year over year. The quarter came in just shy of the record set in 4Q25 and was the strongest second quarter in Exact Ventures’ time series. Growth was broad-based across technologies: 5G SA Core remained the largest and fastest-growing segment, accounting for nearly half of the market, while 5G NSA Core and 4G EPC also delivered solid year-over-year gains as operators continued to invest in capacity on existing networks alongside their standalone 5G buildouts.

Regionally, Asia Pacific accounted for roughly half of global revenue, driven by an exceptional quarter in India, where spending surged on major 5G core investments. Latin America also stood out with outsized growth, and North America, Europe, and the Middle East & Africa all grew year over year. China rebounded strongly from a seasonally weak first quarter, though it was roughly flat compared with a year ago.
Looking ahead, Exact Ventures expects the market to moderate in the second half of 2026 following the strong first half. The mix will continue shifting toward 5G SA Core, which is forecast to approach 60% of the market by mid-2027 as operators complete standalone migrations and 4G EPC spending declines. The report provides detailed vendor market share, regional analysis, and quarterly forecasts through 2Q27.
